Niner Nation: Register to vote
Civic engagement and education go hand-in-hand, and one important aspect of shaping American society is through the ballot box.
UNC Charlotte Votes, a student-led, nonpartisan initiative that is part of the 49er Democracy Experience, is sponsoring Voter Registration Thursdays on Oct. 3 and 10. Members of the campus community are encouraged to stop by Atkins Library between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to learn more about the voting process and drop off their printed and signed TurboVote voter registration form.
TurboVote is a nonprofit agency that runs a software program to help students register to vote, update their voter registration and request an absentee ballot. The software also sends electronic reminders to participants regarding important local and federal elections dates and locations.
UNC Charlotte Votes kicked off its registration drive on Sept. 24 with “Donut Forget to Vote.”
